Water jet cutting is used to cut materials using a jet of high-pressure water and abrasive sand. This water jet reaches pressures as high as 55,000 pounds per square inch (psi). The combination of high-pressure water and abrasive sand enables more materials to be cut cleanly to close tolerances squarely and with a good edge finish.
